A Page in my Journal-a few random verses

A good friend of mine , Jenifer Jernigan, just published this super cool devotional journal, Get Your Praise On! It is designed to take you through the letters of the alphabet with a Bible verse and a praise-filled word that describes the Lord. In addition, the very talented artist Stephanie Ackerman drew doodle art for us to play with while praising the LORD…praise art!

The focus today was He is Honorable, Holy and our Hiding place. Take a peek at some words from my journal as I meditated and wrote out three verses elaborating on Honorable, Holy and Hiding Place.

The LORD is Honorable

Psalm 111:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

His work is honorable and glorious,

And His righteousness endures forever.

His work is honorable and glorious — worthy to be awed and reveared. I must give God full credit over the work of His hand rather than simply admiring something pretty and then moving on in my day…taking time to soak in the enormity of His eloquent creation.

His righteousness endures forever. I should never tire of worshipping my Holy God who continues day in and day out in His purity. Never vacillating and never disappointing us in the deep, unfathomable level of purity.

The LORD is Holy

Psalm 111:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

He has sent redemption to His people;

He has commanded His covenant forever:

Holy and awesome is His name.

Holy and awesome is His name. It will be reveared from my lips and not spoken in in flippant descriptions of things I’m flaberghasted about. OMG will not be a part of my ling any longer. Lord, forgive me when I say your name with out full awe and respect it is due. I call out to You with a heart and mind that daily discovers just how powerful is Your name.

The LORD is my Hiding Place

Psalm 119:114 New King James Version (NKJV)

You are my hiding place and my shield;

I hope in Your word.

You are my hiding place — the place I find rest, peace, comfort, certainty and clarity. The whole world feels chaotic; swirling around me in a blur. But yet, in my Hiding Place, is a stillness that calms each ripple in my soul.

So this is a page from my journal and my raw, unedited thoughts. Take a moment to revel in the three adjectives: Honorable, Holy, Hiding Place and write out how they speak to you. Leave a comment with your thoughts!

  1. I love the open,raw ideas you share that allow us a glimpse into your journal! So revealing!

    Here are some things I think of when relating these words and God in my life-

    Honorable: That the very words from our lips would bring Him honor and glory, that we would praise Him with our lives, our actions, are thoughts, reverence, held in high esteem

    Holy: So Holy, so AWESOME! Highest among High, so overpowering

    Hiding place: place of refuge, when I’m weak so He can make me strong, so He can create in me a new spirit, make me new, make me whole

  2. so fun!! I love your blog already… I mean really a girl who loves Jesus & lipgloss! It was great meeting you Wednesday, I hope our paths cross again very soon!!
