The List

Hey Everyone! How’s your week? Since I’ve been traveling this week, my super awesome friend Heather is our {Guest Lister}.

Heather is a Texas girl at heart who loves to kick around in her boots. Her blog Transformed focuses on helping women and youth draw closer to God through the study of God’s Word, prayer, worship, and fellowship. You can also find Heather on Facebook and Twitter.

Here’s what Heather has to LIST:

I’m so excited I get to share a List with y’all today! I have to say, I had a hard time coming up with a list, I just had so MANY I wanted to pick from. In the end, I had to go with…

What are your favorite Bible verses or stories?

Here’s Heather’s five:

~ Psalm 46:1-2: This is my all-time fave, because it reminds us that no matter what happens in life, God is always in control, even if it looks like everything else is crashing in around you.

~ The Resurrection: There are no better words in Scripture than when the angel says, “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” Our entire faith hangs on this little phrase. {And we get to see Him face-to-face one day!}

~ Peter Walks on Water: Ok, so he started to sink because he took his eyes off Jesus, BUT Peter had enough faith to actually step out of the boat! I pray that I could have just an ounce of faith like that!

~ Genesis 3:15: This one blows me away. Just after Adam and Eve bring sin into the world, before God lays out the consequences, He promises to send a Savior. Holy cow y’all! His love is truly amazing. Within the first three chapters of the Bible, God is already putting His plan of salvation into action. You feelin’ the love y’all? I know I sure am!

~ Daniel and the Lion’s Den: Honestly, I like this one simply because it’s my hubby’s fave…his name is Daniel {you can see why he likes that one!}. Plus he was sitting with me while I was typing out my list.

How about y’all? What are your five fave Bible verses or stories?

    I like in the bible where Jesus says It is finished! No more no less it is done!

    I also like when Mary finds out that’s Jesus is gone from the tomb!

  2. 1. Psalm 27:1 & 14

    2. Whenever I come across the phrase “But God…” in the Bible. Whenever something was meant for the bad, those 2 words interrupts the process and signify God’s intervention!

  4. I have so many favorite Bible verses and stories!!! A few of my favorite verses are:

    Jeremiah 29:11 – REALLY holding on to this promise right now during this transition in my life.

    Ephesians 1:7 and Psalm 30:5 – Two of the verses I will share while I begin helping post-abortive women living with regret.

    Psalm 33:12 – A verse to remind myself when deciding who to vote for and which campaigns to work for.

    Isaiah 6:8 – For a little confidence boost when feeling a little overwhelmed/unsure/afraid about doing work for God.

  5. There are so many! Here are some that I love and have special meaning to me…

    May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13

    I remain confident of this:
 I will see the goodness of the Lord
 in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord;
 be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. – Psalm 27:13-14

    See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. – Hebrews 3:12-14

    Isaiah 54

    The Book of Ruth

    (I also love the story of Deborah, Jael, & Sisera in Judges 4… crazy, I know!)

  6. 1: Phil 4:13

    2: ALL of Ecclesiastes 3

    3: The classic Jesus’ birth story

    4: Moses and the burning bush

    5: The end of Revelation when JESUS WINS!!
