What 20-somethings Have To Say About Stress Point:

As a twenty something woman, I can get so caught up in the transitions as well as the daily grind of life. Sarah identifies that these “stress points” are a battle in my life, but that I can overcome. I love the picture of waiting at the throne of the King, waiting on my Lord. Sit at His feet, focus and soak in His goodness. When I take my eyes off myself and instead look to my Almighty God and Father, the stress points of my life lose their “pointiness” and “stress”. When I allow Him into those areas, He pours His love and grace over the point. I give up my control in each area and he treats it with love and washes Himself over the stress point, replacing it with peace that passes my understanding. This book reminded me to gaze upon the one who made me, who knows me, and rest at His feet.
Sarah is real and open about the issues that young adult women face in Stress Point. Her insight into how we can stay centered on God throughout this season of life is encouraging and refreshing.
As a twenty four year old woman, I find many aspects of my life stressful and really just overwhelming. Sarah touches on all ofthe areas of stress in my life while pointing me back to the importance of an intimate relationship with the God who created me. Her real life applications of each stress point, intertwined with Scripture, make this book relevant and meets me right where I am at–– causing growth and reflection. Every 20-something needs to read this!
There are many inspirational books for young women on my shelves that I’ve collected since I was a new teenager, but this book dropped into my life when I was longing for a little something more—something that speaks to me as a girl standing on the threshold of that decade that holds so much promise and potential and imperfection. I’ll be keeping Stress Point on my bookshelf as I navigate these twenty-something years and I don’t doubt I’ll be buying more copies to give to girlfriends.
