The other day I wrote a post on accepting the Lord’s special invitation to personal and real worship. Check out that post — click here.
Then take a listen to this song by Will Reagan Help Me Find My Own Flame and the questions below to contemplate.
~Do you feel like you are just “dry bones” as the song describes? If so, what happened in your life to dampen your relationship with God?
~Have you seen other’s relationship with the Lord and desired that depth of communion with Him?
~Describe “the real thing” as it relates to a flaming passion for God.
Plain and simple worship between you and the Lord is what gets that flame going. The other day while reading my daily Psalms, a new passion for worship of Him arose when I read Psalm 8.
Psalm 8
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.3When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?5Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
7all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.9O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Take a few moments with both the song/video and the Psalm above to sing and pour your heart out to the LORD. If you want more of His passion, more of His flame, more of the real thing, ASK Him for it in prayer! What Father turns away a prayer like that? Surely not our Heavenly Father!
