RISE UP!: Pink Combat Boots

Alright girls, it is time to lace up your PINK COMBAT BOOTS and RISE UP! to fight the enemy. Making Jesus famous in our life comes at a price. Our friends might not like our choices, people might think we are weird and need to shut up AND the enemy will take huge pot shots at us to keep us from making a difference.

Did you know there’s a whole line up of accessories available to us when we RISE UP! and make Jesus famous? Ephesians 6 gives us a check list of must haves:

RISE UP! and buckle up your belt of TRUTH. No matter what color you chose, TRUTH is TRUTH. As women who love Jesus and His fame, we always speak truth…nix the white lies and gossip! {Ephesians 6:14}

RISE UP! and strap on your breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS. This crucial accessory protects our heart so we aren’t easily swayed toward actions that draw us away from our King. By consciously evaluating our heart condition on a daily basis, we stray away from jealousy or rudeness and move toward joy and grace. The enemy would love to peirce our hearts with things as caddy as snide remarkes from our co-workers. But we won’t let him, WILL WE? {Ephesians 6:14}

RISE UP! and step into shoes (Combat boots?) that give you a firm foundation and a peace that you are READY to live out what you proclaim. It’s tough actually living out the gospel. But we don’t have to do it alone, the Holy Spirit gives us support and a firm foundation. {Sidebar: If you aren’t into combat boots go right ahead and wear your cute ballet flats or awesome heels, just as long as you are READY rock and roll for anything that comes your way.} {Ephesians 6:15}

RISE UP! and grab that shield of FAITH. Some of us carry handbags large enough to knock someone over the head and send them to the ER. Do we know that we know that we know that Jesus is King of Kings? Is your FAITH so strong that you make a stand and not falter what so ever? {Ephesians 6:16}

RISE UP! and place on your head the ever crucial helmet of SALVATION. Yes you may wear your darling chandelier earrings, too! Let’s protect our minds, girls! For me this means I refrain from too much Facebook or Pinterest. Jealousy bubbles up too fast when I hang out long enough to drool over my friend’s latest vacay. For you it might be something else, maybe raunchy movies or books, I don’t know. But, cover your mind so you are fresh and ready at all times. {Ephesians 6:17}

RISE UP! and PICK UP the SWORD of the SPIRIT–the WORD of God. When we take stuff out of our lives that mess with our minds, it is important to fill it up with God’s truth. Let’s commit to solid time in the Word. How will we know TRUTH if we don’t soak ourselves in it? {Ephesians 6:17}

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword… {Hebrews 4:12}

With PRAYER we have everything we need to armor up and fight the battle that MUST take place if we desire to make Jesus famous. Prayer infuses us with the Holy Spirit and God’s ultimate direction. We don’t want to fight this battle blindly or with out His awesome POWER.  {Ephesians 6:18}

Are you pumped up to RISE UP! Do you fee like you have everything you need to win the battle? You do. Let this song below be an anthem to RISE UP! Be sure to hang on for the last verse as it is my favorite and my inspiration for this verse.

THERE’S AN ARMY RISING UP!

Girls, just because we are women doesn’t mean we can’t armor up (pink combat boots and all) and make a difference in the KINGDOM.  WHO’S WITH ME?

RISE UP!: Relationships

Pssst…be sure to read the WHOLE post…giveaway is involved!

I’m so excited to introduce you to my good friend Renee Fisher (Devotional Diva). Renee has a fiery heart for Jesus and has been a huge source of inspiration for me over the last several years. Her latest book just came out and I wanted to get Renee to share hear heart in relation to our topic of RISE UP!

Rising up and making Jesus famous with our romantic relationships can be tough. Today I encourage you to take a hard look at your romantic relationships-present and past boyfriends. Ask yourself: Is Jesus in the VERY CENTER? Are we glorifying Him with EVERY MOVE we make together? If you are not currently in a relationship, ask yourself: how do I prepare for a future romance that would reflect Jesus?

By answering these questions in an honest fashion, you might hear the Lord telling you to make some tough decisions in regards to this romance. It might break your heart. It might break His heart. But, the reward of obeying the callings of the Lord will far outweigh temporary pain and heart ache.

Back to my friend Renee, Not Another Dating Book will encourage and lift you up as you RISE UP! to make Jesus famous…even in your relationships.

I’m giving away a copy of Renee’s book. Leave a comment and share your thoughts on the topic of RISING UP with relationships. I will pick a winner of the book on MONDAY.
