A Page In My Journal: Expectations

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Lord, I surrender my expectations to you. I surrender my best laid plans and ideas on how my life should be. I have concocted grand ideas on how I think the outcome of life issues should turn out, but Lord, I give these expectations to You.

Why do I continuously revisit this issue of mine–– my hangups with control and grand plans? I’m sure You are weary of me dragging up these thoughts and bringing them before Your throne.

I hear You saying to me: No, keep bringing them to me over and over until I work through it completely. Allow me to dig down to the root of your control issues and clean it out.

This takes time and constant focus through prayer, I know. But, Lord, I plead with You let your Holy Spirit work through my junk as I’m sick of constantly replaying them in my head.

Jesus I want to trust YOU and I want to see Your good in every situation, not what I expect to be “good.”

RISE UP!:the nitty gritty

**This is a life movement that I hope you will join me and other young adult women in RISING UP! and making Jesus famous in our life — in 2012. Here is the string of posts on this topic.

Warning: this is a pretty long video blog. I usually try to keep them to under 5 minutes but I had some important thoughts to share and a great invitation to extend your way. Thanks for investing 11 minutes to watch this video!

What is one thing you want to do differently––your experiment––this week, this month, this year. Leave your thoughts in the comments. Let’s encourage each other to examine our lives and RISE UP!

RISE UP!: Something to chew on

**This is a life movement that I hope you will join me and other young adult women in RISING UP! and making Jesus famous in our life — in 2012. Here is the string of posts on this topic.

While worshiping to this song by Brian Johnson one line in the lyrics struck me as we are in our life movement to be a generation of young women who RISE UP!  Take a listen to this song below and see if you hear that one line that I did…hint…listen for “generation.”

Did you hear it?

A generation calling down the reign of Heaven

{Be Lifted High, Brian Johnson, Bethel Live}

So what are your thoughts on this phrase? How do you suppose we make this a reality in our life?

I will touch base later this week to converse further…
