We’ve prepared our hearts to go low before GOD ALONE as we RISE UP! and make Him famous in our life. Though the physical stance of kneeling or posturing face down before Jesus strikes the world as weird, the concept of bowing down before something really isn’t alien. In fact, we do this every day to things like our televisions when we center our life around must see t.v. as I very often do. {working on this at the moment}. There are many gods in our lives in which we inadvertently pay homage to at the detriment to our relationship with Jesus. But the people in our life who don’t know the Lord don’t see this as a problem.

Neither did the people of Babylon when King Nebuchadnezzar commanded the entire country to bow before a golden image in worship of this king…this man. {Daniel 3}

Rearranging Resolutions-She Seeks post

I’m not one to tackle New Year’s resolutions. Maybe it’s fear of failure or intimidation. But looking back over 2011, I see things I wish I’d done, but didn’t. So this year I’m determined to accomplish a few things.

Here is what I jotted down in my journal to start on my personal goals:

In 2012, I want to achieve. I want to prosper. I want to create… cultivate eliminate grow love … I want… I want… I want…

The more I wrote, the more confused I got over what my goal should be: plain and simple. As I re-read my journal, this verse came to mind.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.” ~Isaiah 55:8

I laid my pen down and paused to hear God’s take on this verse … and my resolutions. I imagined Him saying: Your goals are so vast. I see what you want, but there is ONE main focus you need to consider…

I would love for you to join me and read more over at She Seeks. Let’s get a good convo started about personal goals and the ONE thing to focus on this year.

***If you are joining from She Seeks, welcome! I’ve got a new theme going encouraging young adult women to RISE UP! and make Jesus famous in our lives. Can’t wait to get your thoughts…

Go Low then RISE UP! Prep Part 2

**This is a life movement that I hope you will join me and other young adult women in RISING UP! and making Jesus famous in our life — in 2012. Here is the string of posts on this topic.

I find myself in daily need of preparation to RISE UP! as it is not my true nature to make Jesus famous in my life. So often I default to the thinking of making myself and my agenda stand out. Because of this fleshly side of my heart and mind, my prep work needed to RISE UP! every day is to GO LOW before Him.

This takes on a physical posture as I kneel in prayer.

If I’m really ego heavy, I must come face down to the floor.

He doesn’t really need us to GO LOW before Him, though He requires it. God doesn’t need us to say, LORD, I come before you in with a humble heart. Jesus is already almighty, not needing our affirmation. Heck, tens of thousands of angles spend every moment in praise and worship of His greatness.

The key is that we set our heart in the right place. We tell our mind that He is higher and that we must remain LOW before Him before we RISE UP! and make Jesus famous.

John the Baptist said it beautifully:

He must increase, but I must decrease. {John 3:30}

He must increase in my heart as my King and ultimate authority.

~I must decrease and relent my stubborn ways of running my own life.

He must increase in my mind as I praise Him in every situation.

~I must decrease in my spoiled complaining and whining through out my day.

He must increase in my LIFE as I look to please Him alone in everything I do.

~I must decrease as I evaluate the ways I spend my time and look for happiness.

So for us to prepare for this life movement, to RISE UP! I encourage you to DECREASE.

It will be uncomfortable.

Let’s get on our knees.

Let’s get on our face before the Lord.

Let’s set our heart in a place that makes us ready to allow Him to work through us as we RISE UP!

What are your thoughts on GOING LOW before Him so you can RISE UP! and make Jesus known in the world around you? Is this weird and uncomfortable? How about we have an honest convo…
