Go ahead and belt it out!

Just something I wrote a while back…

Picture with me a gigantic hall filled to standing room only with angels elaborately worshiping God. The sole purpose of these angels is to adorn our Lord with song and praise so foreign to our human ear that we can’t even fathom the sound of the notes coming from their mouth. Look down at the end of the hall in the direction of this worship where Jesus sits majestically on a throne shining with jewels of every color of the rainbow. You might even need to shade your eyes for the brightness and purity of the scene overwhelms your senses.

Now, imagine walking into the hall as all eyes turn to you. Don’t miss the glimmer of curiosity and bit of jealousy coming from the glances of the angels as Jesus steps down from the throne and gently pushes past the heavenly beings. He walks toward you with open arms and a smile that pierces through any feelings of blah or blandness of faith because you have shone up to the scene in heartfelt worship. This act of adoration glorifies God a million times more than the packed hall of angels.

You and I worship a real, living God who is ever steadfast and never changing. Our season of blah faith––the moments of dull worship––in no way downgrade His greatness. He is always worthy to be praised regardless of our present level of admiration of His glory. This real, living God experienced the depth of death and darkness and then rose from the grave which gives us full assurance that we too will rise out of the blah dullness that plagues our faith and our joy in Him. That very power which defied death and rolled away the stone from the cave that held His body is the very power that is injected into our spirit to revitalize our worship.

We were made to worship our King. It is part of our DNA.

A Page in my Journal-a few random verses

A good friend of mine , Jenifer Jernigan, just published this super cool devotional journal, Get Your Praise On! It is designed to take you through the letters of the alphabet with a Bible verse and a praise-filled word that describes the Lord. In addition, the very talented artist Stephanie Ackerman drew doodle art for us to play with while praising the LORD…praise art!

The focus today was He is Honorable, Holy and our Hiding place. Take a peek at some words from my journal as I meditated and wrote out three verses elaborating on Honorable, Holy and Hiding Place. Continue Reading »»
