Our dreams vs. His purpose

Dreaming dreams and planning life. That is what I think best describes the quest of a 20/30 something. If you are anything like me, you have probably spent hours mapping out your life or dreaming up your next big project in which you will conquer the world. I am a planner and I get big thrills over brainstorming new ideas.

A page in my journal part 2

One more peek at a page in my journal as I ponder Psalm 145…

One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds…They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness… (Psalm 145:4-7)

We search for a purpose––a way to make a lasting difference. By searching out God, knowing Him and living day by day in TRUE worship, our lives will automatically express God’s glory. This manifests itself in acts of service to others or exclamations of Truth in a hostile world where truth is relevant. Each person makes up their own meaning of truth. But if we, a generation after God’s own heart, are passionate about declaring God’s unfathomable acts which are meant for the benefit of all creation, we must stand up. We must loudly exclaim the Truth and really know our stuff. But that loud exclamation must be tempered in love.
