Above All Else Day 3

Above All Else Day 3

I’m hungry today. I’m hungry for more of Jesus. Are you? Join me at the table for the feast today…Above All Else.

Press In

**I invite you to start from verse 1 of Psalm 145. Read it all every day as we add on each verse. Even if you are going through the motions because it is already familiar, keep reading. Ask God to give you a fresh spark of YES! as you read and re-read this Psalm.

The Eternal is great and deserves endless praise; His greatness knows no limit, recognizes no boundary. No one can measure or comprehend His magnificence.

(Psalm 145:3 THE VOICE)

Do you know your limits today? I sure do. I have this destructive habit of regularly recounting where I fall short, where I’m insecure, where I’m just not enough. I also think we, as Jesus followers, put ourselves in a box. Yes, we place limits on our self perceived ability or inability to serve, love, worship and adore our Jesus above all else. In our Psalm 145 verse for today, we are reminded that God is limit-less. His greatness has no box, no boundary, no guard rail surrounding in order to quell or tame.

Why should we allow ourselves to sit content in the limits of our box?

Press in TODAY. Press your arms up high and bust through the folds and flaps of that box with limitless worship. With hands open wide, surrender…this is worship. With eyes open wide, seek…this is worship. With sweet notes on your lips, sing…this is worship. With words, speak Truth…this is worship.

Pour Out

Father, we seek You, we search for You. Open our eyes to see this greatness that has no limit. Please, Lord!, reach Your strong arm down and pull us out of the box that we sit in content to “worship” in safety and comfort. Lord, show us how worship with our whole LIFE.

Pour Forth

Do you see for yourself how this Psalm 145 of ours is a rally cry, a declaration? With out drumming up praise for the sake of experiencing the emotion, I implore you…yes IMPLORE!…to pour forth some crazy, wild worship today. Push out of that box.

~Bless someone financially who needs all out mercy today…this is worship.

~Write a letter of forgiveness…this is worship.

~Walk around your house and be grateful rather than consuming more today…this is worship.

~Turn up the music loud and dance with praise––abandon your inhibition…this is worship.

The feast continues today as we recognize His greatness is limitless ABOVE ALL ELSE.

Above All Else Day 2

Above all else day 2

Thank you for joining in on the feast today. Might I be honest with you? Today I would rather host my own little pity party and throw the covers over my head and listen to the raindrops out my window. I’m just not feeling it today. Bleh!

Am I’m being way too honest for someone who is sets out to encourage and invite you along in this feast of joyful worship? Am I divulging too much and deterring you in your own feast of lifting up the name of Jesus? Maybe I am…but maybe I am not. One thing I do know is that the “I’m just not feeling it today” is certainly not unique to me and my rainy day blah mood. You’ve been there too, right? Oh I know you have. That is why I choose vulnerability today.

I really know no other way to make Jesus famous than out of vulnerability…authenticity.

Today we will press in whether or not we are “feelin’ it.”

Today we will pour out our worship as a sacrifice of praise.

Today we will pour forth out of boldness knowing that our emotional state of being has no effect what so ever on the God of the Universe and what is due His name—praise!

***Please know that it is not my intent to bring anyone down in this feast today on God’s goodness.  If you are passionately praising Him today with a heart full of JOY, I am clapping right now along with you. Oh He is faithful!

Press In

Join me in the verses of Psalm 145. Each day we will tack on another verse so be sure to read verse 1&2.

My praise will never cease—
I will praise You every day;
I will lift up Your name forever. (Psalm 145:2)

My pressing in today is a means of pressing forward regardless of emotional circumstances. Will you press in today to praise Him and NEVER CEASE in your worship? Will you press through any temptation to shut the door and neglect to dig into the root cause of distractions? Most importantly, will you press in and open wide your heart and mind to allow Jesus to reveal and root out road blocks on your journey to make Him famous?

Pour Out

Lord, our praise will never cease. We declare that today over our lives and by the power of your Spirit. Jesus, open wide the gates we’ve shut around our hearts that hold in and hold back a gushing feast on your fame. Today, we will not allow feelings, emotions, circumstances, to entice us to cease an all out life of praise toward You.

~What is your emotional state right now? Be honest. If we don’t evaluate, those emotions threaten our joy for the day.

Pour Forth

You are WORTHY, Lord!

~Tell Him why He is worthy.

~List ways about His nature that bring a smile to your face and flutters your heart beat.

Oh how I am sensitive to those who really don’t know where to start. I get it. Where to start? Ask Him straight up: Give me a heart for YOU. Show me your Glory! Open my eyes. I’m ready to make much of You! Amen!

As I’m directing all of these prompts and praises and declarations toward my personal worship a fog has cleared away. Today reminds me that our habit of feasting and praising and worship must not be dictated by the wavering of our human-ness and bent toward emotions. No, we feast and we praise and we worship because we know deep down that is how He created us. We know in our depths that there is joy and peace and gladness to behold when we press past our human habit of self-focus.

Let us not allow our praise and feasting on Him to cease!

Above All Else Day 1

Above All Else

The table is set. With the finest of linens dressing the table and the silver gleaming in the twinkle of the light, we prepare for the feast. This is a feast and a celebration fit for The King, the One deserving of our biggest and most exuberant accolades and worship. I would invite you to have a seat but I have a feeling we will not stay sitting for long. But this is no ordinary table full of plates and food and finery. No, this celebration exists where you are right here and now. Right now I’m in my sweaty gym clothes yet I’m perfectly dressed for the occasion. For the fine linens and bright silver and crystal clear glassware I bring is my upmost worship regardless my outward adornment. A willing heart to press in, pour fourth and pour out is all that is required to attend this feast.

And He is pleased.

For the next 21 days we will cultivate a holy habit of regularly partaking in this feast to make much of Jesus.

Why do we do this?

What is in it for us?

What good does it do to partake in this feast?

You see, when we pour forth praise with open arms, we are better positioned to receive His power rather than our own futility. We are open to His mercy and cling less and lest to our own need to strive for perfection. We are free to LIVE in His joy instead of the flat elation that comes with pursuits of the temporary.

But regardless of this, Jesus is just flat out worthy.

Our life becomes less about us and more about His greatness. We gain satisfaction when there is less of you and me and more of the One who is WORTHY. A spiritual change takes place. What we once found as top priority wanes in beauty and importance in light of our need to lift Him ABOVE ALL ELSE.

The platform for our feast is Psalm 145–– a song of David abounding with praise and exhortation and declarations and proclamations. It is the perfect template. The perfect starting point to make this feast personal. Oh yes, this is personal. Your King hears You. Yes, YOU. He hears your praise.

And He is pleased.

Let us begin our feast. Each day I invite you to join in on any or all of the portions of the feast. I encourage you to go the distance. Really dig in. My words and thoughts are just a beginning. Keep going if you choose!

Pressing In

Verse 1. (Take a moment to read Psalm all the way through)

I will lift my praise above everything to You, my God and King!
I will continually bless Your name forever and always. (Psalm 145:1)

Join me and press in with prayer––worship filled prayer…

Oh Jesus I WILL! I am willing. I WILL. Today. Above All Else. You are above everything I hold dear. You are sweeter than any craving. You are just MORE than anything I attempt to chase after. I WILL. I CHOOSE. You are MY God and MY King. I claim that today and I WILL live in obedience of your kingly authority.

Pour Forth

Lord, show me the who, the what, the when, the how. Guide me in the “I will continually…” Continually is a commitment. Yes. Draw me in. Show me more of who you are for there is no better motivation for this continual blessing of Your name.

**How will you do “continually” today? How will you bless your King even when all else distracts this pure focus?

**Who can you bless today in His name?

**What will you trade to place Him above all else?

**When will you pour forth the fame of Jesus…continually?

Pour Out

Let’s be bold and brave because we declared together that He is WORTHY. Let’s RISE UP!

Over the next 21 days I will encourage you in various ways to POUR OUT your worship. I would love to see a ripple effect. I would love to hear about personal connections where we blessed someone or served someone just for the simple fact that you desire worship and serve the Lord. I would love to see the bold declarations that make Jesus famous spread over the world wide web.

~What if we took this feast to our social media feeds?

~What if we took this feast to the playgrounds and gushed about Jesus to the other moms?

~What if we took this feast to the break room at work and really listened to someone who is hurting all the while proclaiming His hope.
