Stress Point: Career — 7 Comments

  1. Thank you so much for your insight.
I am reading your book as part of a review program and so far I am in love!
I just finished the 1st chapter and although my career is as a Stay at Home Mom, I was able to apply it.

I am looking forward to continuing through this book and writing a rave review!

  2. Dear Sarah & other readers,

Thank you so much for writing this study! :)

I believe the Lord had this book waiting for me to pick up because I found it on the shelf of a bookstore at a large church I usually do not attend! I have to admit I read through sections without completing the study with all of the journal pages. I thought to myself, “I don’t have time”. Well, I would like to encourage other women to DO the journal pages because I have started incorporating them into my morning devotions and have already felt so blessed!

Right now, I am during a very hard season of life in my upper 20’s. I have been in the field of education part-time for the past 4 years since I graduated from college. I always had other part-time jobs during these times but over the last year I have been laid off from many due to downsizing & the economy effects. Currently, I feel God may be leading me into special education full-time but I have to confess I am scared. But I really need to find a full-time position to make ends meet because I am basically living off credit & spend most of my pay on paying my own private health insurances, etc. I feel like the Lord never really gives me a final answer to my questions as to what to do or what action I am to take. It has been such a hard time for me as well as others I know.

I am so happy to contribute to this online community and I just wanted to let others know that if they are going through a hard time themselves, they are not alone. I would be so very appreciative for any encouragement or feedback. :)

    Happy New Year,
    J

  3. Well I’m not even in my 20’s as yet,I’m 19.I am at that point where I really don’t like the job I have.Working at clothing store as a Sale Clerk.I want to leave soo much, but I cant right now,so I’m trusting to help me through.I know He has plans for me.

    • Nelle,
Hey friend! As I wrote in the Career chapter of Stress Point, each job is a time for us to learn things and allow God to grow us. Your job might not be your dream job but there is no telling the life lessons and job lessons that you will learn that God will use later in your career. Keep holding tight to your Lord and allow Him to guide and direct you. Hugs!

  4. Sarah– I just want you to know that this book has REVIVED my quiet times with the Lord this summer!! One of my dearest, newest friends suggested it to me- we’re kind of going through it together- and I honestly cannot put it down! I have highlighted several sentences on every page and have had the sweetest prayers with El Elyon this week! Thank you so much for following the Lord’s plan when He called you to write this book!! I cannot tell you how thankful I am for your guidance through these stressful times.

Oh, and I am also only 19!! Actually only a month into my 19th year!! So I still have much to come in terms of a career, but what a wake up call to remember as I am in school to be focused completely on what the Lord wants for the rest of my life, not the big fancy, well-paying career that I dream of having.

So again. Thank you for listen to the call and fulfilling God’s plan to aid in ours!! I have suggested this book to so many of my closest friends and it has really opened doors to keep each other accountable in daily communication and time with the Lord!!

Anyway… God BLESS you, Sarah Martin!!
