Video Bible Study-James5

This is the last week of our study on James.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.  Can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

~Read James 5:1-6 and tell us what your take is on this segment of the chapter.

~I referred to the book, Crazy Love in the video and shared some ideas on how to live expectantly.  What are your thoughts and how do you plan to live as if Jesus could come at any moment?

~The final segment of James 5 mentions Elijah who prayed fervently for a very long time. (See 1 Kings) What keeps us from losing faith when God’s answers to prayer don’t come as quickly as we would like?

~What are you going to do differently TODAY as a result of reading James 5?

  2. I would like to finish the last chapter 5. Can we do that 13-19. Especially verses 15 through 16. I feel you left me short. I want more of James!!!

  3. Hello Sarah!

I just love this concept of online vlog devos! I think its great and something I’ve been wanting to do myself for a while! Any reccomendations on great quality webcams? I am looking forward to seeing more of these. I appreciate them! Have a wonderful day!

  4. Crazy Love: one of my favourite books. I enjoyed the video that kind of goes a long with it, “Lukewarm Christianity” which was a sermon by Francis Chan. We can’t live in a “lukewarm” lifestyle. We must always live expecting Jesus is going to be coming for us to set up His kingdom. I love that you tied this to James 5.

This definitely made me reflect on the way I have been living my life. There are parts of my life that I would not want Christ to see when He comes so I need to modify my life so that I am living completely and utterly for Him and not my own selfish desires and sins.

In my personal life, to keep from losing faith when a prayer isn’t answered right away, I just keep in my mind that God answers prayers in His time. Maybe there is a sin in my life that prevents that prayer from being answered…or maybe, He has a bigger and better plan for me in that aspect of my life…Those are the thoughts that I try to keep in my mind when I feel as though my prayers are not being answered in what I consider a “timely fashion.”

Thanks again for this Bible study. I went through it twice because I enjoyed it so much. I was definitely fed through it. James really speaks to my heart and I look forward to whatever study you have coming next for us!

    Thank you!
