For years I’ve chewed on this one little verse in the book of John. Fourteen words with in one verse of the Bible lead us toward some good, clean fun! While we are RISING UP! let’s live it up, ok?
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. {John 10:10}
God gives us passions and gifts of talent to make our lives more interesting while we live to glorify Him and make Him famous. These passions don’t have to be “churchy” that is for sure!
Do you love to paint? Go for it…make a beautiful canvas with a miriad of colors pleasing to the eye?
Do you love to sew? Go for it…make a gorgeous piece of fashion that turns heads.
Do you love to play an instrument? Go for it…jam out and make some noise.
Do you love to run? Go for it…run your heart out in a 5K.
Do you love to act? Go for it…join your local theatre in their latest production.
I want to be seen as a fun Christian, don’t you? I want others to see that my life is full and abundant. I want the world to see beauty that God created through my talents He alone bestowed.
Go for it!
What’s your passion?
A) Cute canvas B) I am all for fun. Well posted!
You know, Sarah, for months after becoming a Christian I thought that living for Christ meant any of my other passions (ie. the horses) were sinful. I was so free the day I learned that my God given talents and passions were given to me for a REASON and that I could indeed glorify Him even in these activities! What joy!
Thank you for the reminder!
Sarah- I love this post! It’s very hard to feel like you have a balance between living out your faith and still being “the fun girl.” What a great post on how you can do both while still living out your life for Jesus!
hey sarah this is true…some christians become too religious so they restrict themselves by setting up so many rules…but god wants us to enjoy our life to the fullest…so whatever we do we can do it for the glory of god…i love baking so i am planning to bake a yummy chocolate cake!!!!
