  1. Sarah~ I hope you are feeling better today! I definitely agree with this vlog! I’m always sad when I hear Oprah speak because she has such a huge platform but yet never once mentions Jesus. We definitely have to keep that at the forefront and make sure that people know that it’s not just some god out there but there is the one TRUE and living God. Great thoughts!

  2. I am so glad you are speaking about this! Oprah has such a huge platform that many listen to and idolize. I quit watching Oprah about 10 years ago because of this but the younger audience is getting sucked in. Thank you for taking this stand and saying all you said so very well! Amen! :)

  3. Your message is awesome Sarah..anyone who finds it “controversial” should probably question why they are on this site to begin with. I don’t watch Oprah, or much tv in general for that matter, but I think this is a great topic to consider for LIFE. There are plenty of people across many spectrums who will agree that there is “a ‘god'” . That’s easy to do..but when someone is speaking about this “god”, how do we know who or what they are talking about? If we don’t have a clear, defined answer then we might as well be like those who believe our world was solely created by the “big bang” theory, because if we don’t have a defined “god”, what is our purpose of believing or having spirituality to begin with?

I’ve never really considered this topic or the passage that you read, so I learned something new today that I wish to carry in my heart for the rest of my life. This is a great way discuss our faith with in Jesus with others and a great way to respond those who make the generalized admission to there being “some kind of ‘god’ out there”.

  4. Sarah- Love this vlog! I think it’s so important for us to realize how media influences our lives, even when we don’t realize it. I’m not a huge Oprah fan for the reasons that you mentioned. She always seems to give these “bumper sticker” key things to fix your problems with, but rarely mentions the REAL truth like you said. I think this is such a great example to show the way NOT to rise up (as far as Miss O is concerned) and for us to take these media messages and rise up to create the ultimate true message about Jesus. Couldn’t agree with you more! And she has such a huge audience, with a lot of younger girls watching…what kind of message is she sending to them? Great vlog Sarah!
