If you are clicking over from She Seeks, welcome!

Here’s a little tid bit from my {inspirational entry} on She Seeks.

I’m super excited to officially launch my new book, Stress Point: Thriving Through Your Twenties In A Decade of Drama. (There’s a giveaway of my book over on She Seeks this week and more to come!)

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. {Hebrews 4:16 ESV}

The image of our powerful King Jesus on His throne captivates me and gives me a sense of calm confidence when when I bring Him my stress. Even more encouraging is that we can approach our King 24/7 with anything and everything. There is no sign on the door that say, God is out for the moment, come back later.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m wondering how this might change your view of our Lord — that He is ready and willing to hear us out, help us out and show us His glory any time. Nothing scares our Jesus away. None of our life junk. None of our ugliest thoughts. None of our weirdest requests. Nothing. Looking back at Hebrews 4:16 where it says that we find mercy and grace, God reminds us that there is no list in which He says, “nope, not gonna help you with that.” or “um…I don’t do messy junk you are bring me…”
Instead, Jesus is ready and willing and able to be our everything. To be our hero. In fact, He already is our hero…we just need to draw near to that throne of grace with confidence that His arms are wide open.
The ONE requirement is that we love Him and serve Him alone as our King of Kings and only savior.
Have you known and loves Jesus for some time now, but have yet to surrender everything at the throne of Your King?
Have you heard about this man named Jesus, but never handed over your life to His Kingship?
Where ever you are in life, where ever you stand with Jesus know that the creator of the universe, the ONE who holds it all together, cares deeply about you. He sees it when you stress out about life. He sees your heart heart. He is waiting for you to come boldy and confidently to HIS throne of grace and mercy with…
anything
and
everything.
Let’s chat: What image comes to mind when you read Hebrews 4:16 above and how does it change your view of Jesus?
  1. Your book review spoke to me!all those short-term happiness that I have been chasing after cause me more harm than I ever knew while god is patiently waiting for me to seek Him first when I’m feeling down,frustrated or lost!pray that your book will be a life-changing experience for your reader. :)
  2. My hope for our twenty somethings is that they will find their value and worth in the Lord and that they will live boldly in His truth…too many of our young women are prisoners of the world and its ungodly standards…what potential there is in this generation if they could only experience the power of Jesus daily to free them from this world!
  3. My hope is that I can share this book with my daughter who just turned 20 in May, who has just finished her 2nd year in college and has experienced a very stressful year this year, trying to balance work , school and lot’s of social time. My hope is to help us both remember that our JOY and STRENGTH comes from our relationship and time spent with the Lord. There are so many distractions and things that we all try to “fill up” on, and they are not bad in and of themselves but they are not where GOD wants us to turn. Thank you for the great reminder and if I win your book, it will be perfect timing for my daughter and I. Looks like a great summer read to get ready for her 3rd year of college. Bless you! I’m also going to give her your 20 something blog, she needs to find Christian connections now that she is out of the home living at school. God Bless you and your ministry.
  4. I have been having a really tough time in the job market right now. I moved to MS for a job that I loved but was way to stressful. I was offered a different job in the town and chose to stay. Even though, i knew, and my boss knew that I had no experience in this job field. I have had to rely on the proverbs 31 bible studies to help me get through this past year. I love the fact that you have written a book for our age group because I seriously need some help and don’t know where the lord is leading me now. Thank you for listening to God and pursuing his plan for you. I haven’t read your book yet ( just found out about it this morning) but I can’t wait to read it.
    • Aimee-yes, the job market is tough right now. One thing I advise my friends looking for jobs is to not worry that this maybe not-so-perfect job will be your life long career. Sometimes it takes stepping stone jobs to get to our dream job. :)
  5. Thank you for the devotion on P31 & your blog post-excellent reminders for women of any age! Though I have come out of my 20’s I’d still like to read your book. Most of all though, I have a sister & a cousin who are in their 20’s & both have struggles especially my sister. I would definitely give this to my sister to read, first, & I think it would bless & help her.
    ~Blessings~
  6. I am SO EXCITED to have found this blog (also through P31 ministries like several other readers). I am 27 and still battling to find my complete hope and satisfaction in the Lord; it is so easy to become distracted and burdened with things of this word. Your video hit the nail on the head; there is very little 20-something-oriented literature available for believers dealing with the pressures of this life stage. I can’t wait to read your book and learn more about your ministry!
    • Erica! Yes, it is very easy to be distracted, I get distracted everyday. But, being grounded in the Lord helps me to see the flat nature of worldly things and living vs. living for my King.
  7. Thank you for sharing about your book and I enjoyed your devotion. I have twin girls that will be 20 soon and they are working full time for the summer and then back to college in the fall. Listening to their trials and struggles each day and then I hear them turn to a scripture in the bible that relates to a situation and it makes me feel good that that it is God who they turn to in time of stress and trials. Sometimes it is hard to know that God is always there and it is a work in process to remember that. They will be the future mentors for so many children growing up in a crazy world where God is not the 1st thing in everyone’s lives. It always helps to have someone like you share your words and love of Christ with others and especially girls in their 20’s. Thank you again.
  8. I appreciated your devotional for Proverbs 31. I would love to win your book and learn how to deal with the everyday stress in my life. Thanks!
