It is my turn on She Seeks this week and I’m so thrilled about the topic. I would love for you to go and check it out as I touched on the topic of taking time for God and filling up on HIM rather than things.

I’ve expressed many times on this blog my love for politics. I get a kick out of Election Night and all of the hoopla leading up to it. A certain “fair and balanced” news network is the only news source allowed in m y house and the thought of two women potentially running for president thrills me to no end. I am a political junkie.
But even I get disillusioned at the state of our country and politics from time to time. During our Fourth of July service at church we prayed fervently for the state of our country and I couldn’t help but think of the many young adults who, like me, are frustrated and pessimistic about where our country stands as a whole.
I have one verse in the Bible in which I always turn to when ranting and raving about things far beyond my realm of influence. Though we all should get involved and at the very least vote, there are political happenings that we have absolutely no control over. This verse in the book of Daniel keeps it in perspective for me.
Daniel 2:20-23
20Daniel answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;
22 he reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
23To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”
***the state of the national debt …GOD KNOWS.
***the state of your personal debt…GOD KNOWS.
***the corrupt happenings in Washington…GOD KNOWS.
***the high number of people without work…GOD KNOWS.
***the state of your personal lack of work…GOD KNOWS.
He knows and it is all in His control. Nothing that happens behind secretive closed doors in Washington is out of reach for our LORD. It is easy for young adults to sit back in frustration and not do anything – to throw up our hands in surrender. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. You have a future that God planned out before any of the influential politicians ever dreamed of throwing their hat in the race. You have a chance to make a difference so don’t sit back and watch the world happen to you. Rather, put your future in the hands of our God who is all-mighty and all-knowing.
Will you join me in trusting Him?
Will you join me in continuing to pray for our nation?
Will you be a part of a generation that refuses to live apathetically?
